I close my eyes. I’m now inside Alvin:
I see tripodfish. Tens of thousands of them, all anchored firmly to the sand beneath them, facing against the current, waiting for the prey to flow into their mouths.
All strapped with tiny, super-high-tech video cameras on their backs, becoming the eyes for the deep sea biologists who reside miles above, feeding the curious beings with what, to them, is just ordinary, mundane sceneries.
And all this happens as they quietly wait for the plankton to swim through their bodies.
I love tripodfish.
