In my future queendom, consumption of asparagus will be enforced.

So easy to detect.

Only about 40% of all people are detectable after consuming asparagus. I guess it’s a genetic thing (some enzymes are there or aren’t), and I suppose you own these genes as I do 🙂
Sorry to disappoint you – there’s no 100% guarantee. Not even with asparagus.

Yeah, I’ve also heard that some people don’t smell asparagus as they exit our bodies. Didn’t know it was such a high percentage. Hopefully. my queendom will last for soooo long (without much mating with foreigners) that everyone will gain the asparag”ene”…

Then again, I feel that these 60% of the people may perhaps be the lucky ones…

Mika, your blog is delightful. Found it totally by chance, but I had to say that the way you think and pour your words into your blog are an inspiration.

    Thanks and keep it up!

Thanks! 🙂 Such a nice comment to read before falling asleep…

Actually, later studies suggest that all people produce detectable scents after eating asparagus. It’s that only 40% of the population can tell, and 60% cannot smell it.

Clearly, you must choose your high officials for their sensitive noses.

I note that I am in Holland during the asparagus season and I have not yet had any — I need to change that before I leave…

Ohhh, mako will be so jealous to hear that you’re there now. 🙂

    Yum.
