Yesterday, I got a package from Japan. After I signed the recipient’s form, the postman held his hand out in front of me, saying “domo arigato” (thank you very much). I thought “oh.. how nice. He wants to shake hands with me.” So, I did but he then said “nonono, I just want my pen back!”

Ah..never ending embarrassing moments.

I opened a tea bottle that was in the box I sent from my school. It gave me this burp that just talked for all the bacteria that must have been living and making love and dying in my thick magic-bottle. Of course, I wasn’t too fascinated by the thought of such bacteria when I saw some two-month-old green tea leaves inside but nonetheless, I was impressed by the meaning of this burping for a while; at least until the extremely disturbing odor reached my lazy olfactory receptors..

natto

I love Natto (fermented soy beans. Yum.). I can eat them for breakfast, lunch, snack, or dinner and I always enjoy the taste. The only time I did not enjoy the taste was when I threw up Natto. Stomach acid and Natto don’t go too well together..

kudamono

I like bananas a lot but unless they’re peeled already, I usually don’t eat them. I always think about the baby flies sleeping happily in the skin, which makes me lose the appetite..

mo hitotsu

I talked about socks and me at night time a couple days ago. Another thing that I cannot keep on my body for a long time is nail polish. I feel like my nails are suffocated..

tsuba

I feel as though some water fountains recycle the excess water. Sometimes, when the water touches my lips, it feels like a bit diluted saliva.. kinda nasty. I don’t like it.

ka

I feel very very vulnerable when I take a shower with a mosquito flying around me. I’d probably feel pretty vulnerable too if some killer was around but at least, I know what his/her purpose is and that it’s ok to hurt the person but mosquitos are different. I can see its possible intention but nonetheless, it may be just resting in this humid environment. So, I feel hesitant about killing it but still it’s likely that it’ll bite me if it happens to land on any part of my body since mosquitos always choose to bite me when I’m in a group of people. If they had a magazine, my name would be definitely listed in the Top 10 Yummy People.

So anyways, my point was that I feel very very vulnerable when I take a shower with blood-sucking bugs around me.

Yumcax’s sister doesn’t like it when people stare or just glance at her toes. She tries to hide them with the other foot but unfortunately, that foot is usually bare as well, so she just panics. She’s really adorable.

Anyways, I heard that a tumor sometimes grows teeth and hairs as a result of mutation. It’d be really scary if I open up a patient’s abdomen and see a tumor smiling at me with its hair braided.

Yeah.

onsoku

I feel like there would be less crimes if the speed of sound was faster than the speed of light. If you hear what’s coming before it shows up in front of you, maybe we could even do the Matrix trick (i.e. avoiding a bullet)!

Of course, that probably would require a high reflex, and so I would probably still get shot anyways…

keito

Rocking chair and knitting are stereotypically associated with old people but I like this combination a lot.

I had a surreal moment today. I was walking across a street and saw a red car coming towards me. Everything seemed normal at that point. Hot sunny day, people talking on the phone, sipping a cup of coffeee, some pretty girl driving the car and singing to the car BGM.. but then, I saw two parakeets on top of her head. At first, I thought they were a part of a hat but she wasn’t wearing a hat. Just two live birds walking/resting on top of a girl’s head. Nobody else who saw the car seemed to care but I had to stop and reorganize my thoughts in the middle of the street.

Yeah, trivial things easily catch my attention while more important things hardly ever do..

In the 60s or 50s, Japan had a very strong female volleyball team. Somebody told me that every time the players tried to catch the ball, they did somersault beforehand. Whenever I do somersault, I sort of lose a sense of direction and have to look around for a couple secs to orient myself, so I feel like that’d a very inefficient way of catching a ball…is it just me?

arere

The kanji for white radish is spelled “Big Root”. There are several ways to read that word but only one way is correct: daikon. When I was in the third grade, I was doing my kanji notebook and came across this word. It was marked as a difficult kanji but most Japanese kids read it right. I thought about it for a looong time and read it with all my confidence; OONE.

Later I heard that all my brothers read it the same way as I did when they first saw that word. This was when I understood the concept of genetics for the first time..kinda sad.

mushimsuhi

The “spice” : the Dune people = Humidity : me.

kutsushita

I can’t sleep with my socks on for the whole night.

As I peeled the skin of a potato, I thought about the figure w/o bone and flesh in “The Last Supper” by Michaelangelo. The person is supposed to be Michaelangelo himself.

A couple days after I saw the painting, I heard that there was a saint who actually got his skin torn off until he died. I think that’s one of the worst torture I’ve ever heard and can’t believe that anybody could actually execute such a torture.

Maybe that’s why I don’t like sticking my hands into a bag full of potatoes with lots of sprouts. It silently but definitely reminds me that they are alive and makes me feel awful peeling off their skin..

Teachers often mistakenly think a student is raising his/her hand when she/he actually isn’t doing so to ask questions. I notice that most the time, guys say “Oh, I was just scratching my head”.

It just doesn’t seem like a cool statement to announce in front of the whole class. Not like I could come up with a better thing to say but I just feel that that’s an extra piece of information that nobody really needs to know.

During my trip in Morocco, I took a train from Marrakech to Fez for 7 hours. I met a lot of people there. One girl, who was super cheerful and super hyper, decided to tell everyone on the train that my father is Jackie Chen and told them that they needed to come to our compartment within an hour in order to get a signature from my mom. After the girl got off, three people who worked on the train came asking for my mom’s signature.

Of course, we told them the truth but two of them decided to stay in our compartment and started talking to my mom in Japanese. I was being very impressed by their self-taught japanese. BUT. The next thing I knew was that they were asking my mom for permission to marry me.

HEY. If you have something to tell me, tell ME first not to MY MOM.

New pics at mika.yukidoke.org/images. Feels good to be here again.

When the shower water hit the neck region of my spinal cord (2nd or 3rd bump?) , I hear the sounds of waterfall.

fuyu

How to make a lonely winter day more fun: Think that the trees are girls standing on her hands. Her hairs are underneath the ground (roots), he slender legs are shooting up towards the sky… and all her clothes are off.

See? It’s more exciting..

One of the dorms at my school smells like somebody’s head when it’s not washed for a couple days…
