Mika — My name (Kate) is also not that uncommon but it is much more common now than when I was a kid. The funny thing is that for some reason I always remind people of other people they know — so that several of my friends have made the mistake, early in our friendship, of calling me by the wrong name. This doesn’t bother me, but the funny thing is in the case of my friend Kiri, the person that I reminded her of was also named Kate, and so she spent months calling me Kate *by mistake*. Of course I never noticed.
