Somebody told me that if you are under 20, zits are called “nikibi” (acne) in Japanese while if you are over 20, they’re called “fukidemono” (– “bursting things”).
That is kind of bothering..

I wonder which is more flattering to speak of somebody: in terms of “thickness” or “fatness.”
When I get really really super-excited, I always feel like I have hide my feet..I feel like something is gonna grab my ankles from underneath my chair, bed, couch etc etc..
I like taking a walk.
A couple days ago, I was walking down by the water and smelled something good..something that reminded me of my favorite food. I couldn’t quite figure out which food it was and as I looked to my side, there was a huge pile of manure.
It makes a bit more sense now why some of my favorite foods often disgust my american friends..
When I see my friends in my dream, they usually say or do things that I expect them to do. I think dreams really reflect my perception of and prejudice towards what kind of people my friends are and it sometimes shows me a new aspect of myself.
My cousin’s husband once told me that if I could resist a temptation in a dream, that would be like enlightenment and would prove my mental strength: I’ve found this to be really difficult to do.
Maybe the measurement of intimacy correlates to how much you are willing to share geerrm with the partner. Personally, I think kissing should be like hugging and it’s ok for friends to do it. The reason why kissing got such a high status may be because it is potentially possible to exchange germs..and if you dont’ trust the person you’re kissing or don’t love the person includening his/her germs, you don’t wanna share geerrms with him/her by kissing whereas hugging has a lower risk of sharing geerrmms, so it’s more common…
I probably was in an OCD mood when I came with this thought.
I cracked my rib today.
Sometimes, or even often, politics makes people become so serious about ridiculous stuff. Some Japanese parliament member aplogized in public for his recent statement on BSE and bird flu. When somebody says “Mou kekkou”, it means no more/I no longer want it. Well, this guy said “Cows, Chickens..mou kekkou!” Now, Mou also is the onomatopoeia for cows just like moo in English. So, this silly politician was making a middleage man’s not that funny joke on this cow/chicken issue. (Though, I must say that made me smile a bit..)
It evidently offended many individuals and I could see why but at the same time, the fact that the Diet took time for him to apologize for his joke makes me sigh. Sure, some jokes are unacceptably bad but I don’t think this one was worth even paying attention to. There are many many more important things they should be doing and in my mind, this sort of things belongs to the same category as Yaji (hooting), which is a popular thing to do in the Japanese Diet.
I was playing with my pooch in my bathtub and thinking how my body cells decide in which part of the body they burn the fat cells. As I imagine the discussion among certain cells, I felt like there must be something political about the decision…as they decide to deplete fat from a fertile land of mika’s pooch, the land of thighs fears that they may become the next target and try to store more fat while sending secret messages to the board of trustee cells that my boobs are forming rebellious troops…of course, this may be just what we call genetics nowadays…
Just a little bathtime thought…
A couple weeks ago, a friend of mine came to visit me from Japan. Especially because she’s a really sweet, sheltered, pure person, many many things turned out to be cultural-shock experiences for her. One day, I was explaining to her how common marijuana is in this country in comparison to Japan. We were discussing this issue for about half an hour while we were waiting for a street bus. Then, out of nowhere, she said “Oh yeah, it was so much fun doing speed last night”
My heart froze.
My head started spinning and my voice quivering; “..what did you just say?” Then with this sweetest smile, she says “with Thumbs (one of my friends)”
Ohh, I was so ready to send a couple gozillas to Thumbs’s home. SO ready.
How could he ruin my friend’s perfect life, how could he do this behind my back, how could he.. wait a minute. My voice again quivered with, this time, a hope in mind, “You mean..when you played cards with him..?” Again, with a lovely, friendly, naive smile, she nodded and said “Yep! that was soo much fun..”
I just realized how smart and useful spiral staircases are. (I hate ending sentences with Be-doushi..) Spiral staircases make otherwise dangerous tasks so easy and doable. I admire whoever came with this idea first..
