I am an epidemiologist haunted by the specter of sedentariness. Luckily, I now live in the Pacific Northwest (Cascadia!), where great outdoor activities are in abundance. I grew up in a mega-city and am fairly clueless when it comes to wilderness but I am learning through trials and errors.

I had been a commuter bicyclist for most of my life but while living in Boston, I started biking long-distance. Since we moved to PNW, I got into hiking, camping, and mushroom foraging as well. I rarely go to gym, so these outdoor activities are my only means to fend off the specter…
